The Committee Chairpersons’ Conference is composed of the Chairpersons of the decision-making committees (Media Council, Media Commission, Assembly, etc).
The Committee Chairpersons’ Conference (GVK) makes selection decisions according to Section 36 paragraph 3 of the Interstate Broadcasting Treaty (RStV) on the allocation of wireless transmission capacities to private providers and has jurisdiction in matters of platform assignment.
In the Committee Chairpersons’ Conference questions of media policy and media ethics are deliberated. Of special importance is the discussion concerning programming content: The committee chairpersons deliberate the issue of the quality and development of electronic media in light of their influence on the values and norms of our society.
The committee chairperson of the managing media authority takes over the chair of the Committee Chairpersons’ Conference. Currently Dr. Hartmut Richter – Chair of the Media council of the State Media Authority of Baden – Wurttemberg (LFK) – is the Chair of the Committee Chairpersons’ Conference.
